Why an exhibition

« To build the world we dream of, we need to give to all the desire to live in it » (1)

Since the amazing and recent awakening to environmental issues, our society is evolving whilst adopting a more responsible behaviour towards the planet.

Today, most companies choose to promote sustainable strategies thus transforming their usual economic approach. The respect for the environment and individuals is directly associated with their corporate social responsibility. Products become economic, organic, ethical…in one word: sustainable.

Political actors have also become increasingly aware of their fundamental role in implementing measures, supporting and revitalizing this new economy.

The media too echoes back the work and projects developed by associations, experts, and personalities committed to sustainable development. It has efficiently contributed to the awakening of the public opinion to the necessity to reconsider our lifestyle as now eco-conscious citizens.

The public is open and enthusiastic, discovering its own influential role along with companies.

However, responsible businesses today lack visibility and consum’actors are in search of new models.

Indeed The surveys below indicate that we are:

  • 85% (2) to believe organic & green products are not just a fashionable development / 60% to say they represent a real progress in the society
  • 91 % (3) to consider the protection of the environment as one of our first priorities
  • 81 % (3) that are ready to buy certified environmentally-friendly products
We wish to contribute to the battle against global warming, pollution and biodiversity loss
  • But: 53 % (3) of us don’t know how to do it yet!

Thus, Planete Durable® will be the unique venue for all dedicated to sustainable consumption at a time when individuals strive to sharpen their social and environmental conscience.
